Hic Et Nunc

(Each line should be read in a three second interval. A metronome is encouraged.)

The present moment is about six seconds.
I have two lines of three seconds to work with.
Each line can be held for three seconds - an instant.
Now we've forgotten the first line let's say it again.
The present moment is about six seconds.
I have six seconds to tell you the truth.
Two lines of three seconds can be held in your head.
Each second an object - six objects in all.
We can consider seven individual objects,
give or take two. Nine seconds or objects
can live in your head, but you have to be trying.
Nine is a lot. They got rid of Pluto.
People would find it too hard to remember
if we also had Ceres, and Eris, and co.
Now we've forgotten the first line let's say it again.
The present moment is about six seconds.
Mercury. Venus. Jupiter.
Mars. Saturn. Uranus.
Do you think that I'm forgetting something?
It's hard to remember to include yourself.

Can you remember the first line now?
The present moment is about six seconds.
And yet that first moment is well in the past.
A minute nineteen if I read this correctly.
Where do we remember what is now gone?
One sign a planet and one planet a second.
Two seconds a planet and the sign alongside.
You can fit a planet-sign into six seconds.
Sun. Virgo. Moon.
Aquarius. Rising. Leo.
I had six seconds and told you the truth.
That is my starsign, whatever it means.
Where the stars were at the time of my birth.
Well probably. Not to the nearest six seconds.
The stars might've been just a bit to one side
or, much more likely, somewhere quite different
when I spoke the first line and HELD...it
and remembered it all the way through the second.
Now I can remember the first line, past moment,
and I will keep that for more than six seconds.
