MAGNETIC NORTH
I don't want to speak about it.
I'd rather be talking about something else.
And that is because I have a bad feeling when I talk about it
and that all that we have to judge our actions is a feeling.
I'm sorry I keep speaking about the same thing over and over but
there are no morals and no laws. Any law can be broken and
any moral can be misunderstood. These are merely constructed
systems but the way that some systems occur over
and over again seems to point to something.
That the bad feeling occurs inside of us that makes us
reproduce these systems over and over again.
We have instincts and I think some instincts are
well understood. We seek food and shelter and
company. Less understood is our instinct to put
ourselves into opposition with the world, although
this occurs from a very young age. If we did not then
we would not be able to distinguish ourselves from
the world. --- This is part of what
is called "family values"; that the family works to
keep its parts from becoming distinct, and thus
the family can act collectively, strengthening
itself. This may cause distress to all of its parts but
I see it over and over again in the work of the company
or the party - that we are all producing flocking
behaviour, even when the flock is going the wrong way.
